1954年 瀬田工業高等学校を出て近江絹糸長浜工場に就職
近江絹糸労働組合長浜支部長に就き、歴史的な人権争議106日ストを闘い抜いた
1970年 オーミケンシ労働組合大阪支部書記長
1982年 大阪同盟執行委員
1989～1993年 連合大阪副事務局長
近江絹糸では、職制の主任として現場の人望を築き、近江絹糸労働組合の決起に際して、その影響力を発揮して最期の支部結成を担い、豊かな実践を通して得た現場組合員の視線を繋ぐ労働組合論を主張して、大阪支部（本社支部）専従書記長として、またゼンセン同盟で、存在感を発揮した。「僕の人生の宝は近江絹糸長浜工場同窓会」
大阪同盟では、教宣・文化活動中心に重責を果たし、連合大阪結成時から副事務局長・政策局長として、最低賃金、「ゆとり宣言」、明るい高齢社会づくり運動とともに、「連合大阪の森」づくりに懸命に取組んだ。
退職後も自然保護運動はじめ多彩な市民団体の世話役を担い、争議で多くの人びとの支援に支えられたから、「恩送りの運動」だと称して生涯現役の人生を貫いた。
