20世紀初期写真業界の領袖で、古写真蒐集家であった旧上田写真機店社主上田貞治郎（1860-1944）が遺した、数千点の文書史料と写真史料で構成される「上田貞治郎関係史料」および「上田貞治郎全国名所写真貼コレクション」からなる。これらは、大阪府泉北郡諏訪之森駅前の上田貞治郎本宅一階に設置されていた基督教史料･写真史料のアーカイブ「上田文庫」の旧蔵品であった。

昭和30年代末頃、上田家では相当の史料を処分しており、上田写真機店の経営関係史料群や貞治郎関係の書簡史料群、大正年間の日記群、貞治郎がかつては所蔵していた古写真蒐集家和田奈良松旧蔵の硝子湿板写真群が散逸している。現在、「上田貞治郎関係史料」の目録編纂作業中。
